Established as a nonprofit in 2/22 of 2026, YOLOVIVI was created to honor and share the art of spiritual healing. Rooted in ancestral traditions of African-American Rootwork, yolovivi weaves somatic practices, energy work, and natural elements into experiences that support harmony of body and spirit.

Our work is especially focused on rural and underserved communities where access to culturally responsive, holistic, and prevention-based wellness resources may be limited.
Our mission is to provide accessible, culturally responsive, trauma-informed wellness education and community programs that promote emotional regulation, mindfulness, grounding, resilience, and holistic well-being. We additionally serve the public through educational workshops that strengthen community health, safety, compassion, and connection while empowering individuals with practical skills that support long-term wellbeing and self-reliance.

The name yolovivi carries its own blessing: YOLO, “You Only Live Once,” joined with the African word Lovivivi, meaning “love is sweet and ever-present”—invites a life lived with intention, compassion, and connection.

We believe sustainable growth comes from strong roots—community, compassion, and connection.

We serve individuals, families, youth, caregivers, helping professionals, and community members seeking accessible wellness support.

Melissa is a sound healing practitioner and wellness guide offering gentle, holistic support through mindfulness, divination, and restorative practices. She is passionate about expanding access to integrative, trauma-informed care through community healing and mindfulness-based somatic practices.
David Brumbaugh
Melissa and David bring complementary approaches to community wellness, blending restorative healing practices with practical safety education. While their approaches may appear different, they are deeply interconnected. Together, their work reflects the belief that wellness is both internal and external: rooted in the body, shaped by environment, strengthened through community, and supported by meaningful connection to nature.

Secretary/Treasurer
David is a federal safety specialist offering grounded, hands-on support through preparedness, outdoor skills, and risk awareness. An avid caver, naturalist, and former classroom teacher, he is passionate about promoting education, self-sufficiency, and environmental stewardship through practical, nature-based learning.
YOLOVIVI is rooted in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, where towering pines, granite landscapes, open skies, and winding mountain roads create a natural setting for reflection, restoration, and connection. Located near Yosemite National Park, our work is inspired by the beauty, resilience, and grounding energy of the surrounding landscape.

Rooted Repatterning Method™ is YOLOVIVI’s emerging integrative wellness framework designed to help participants explore emotional patterns, reconnect with
inner wisdom, and build tools for grounding and self-awareness.
Drawing from CBT-informed reflection, mindfulness, inner child exploration, sound-based regulation, nature-based practices, and symbolic meaning-making, this approach supports participants in noticing old patterns and cultivating new ways of relating to themselves.

Sound is more than something we hear. It is energy traveling through the air and the body.
Sound carries rhythm, vibration, and intention from one space to another.
This connection inspires experiences that blend sound, breath, movement, and mindfulness into an immersive form of wellness.

Chakra-centered practices invite participants to explore the relationship between emotional wellness, physical awareness, energy, and intention. Crystals, sound, movement, meditation, and reflection may be used to support balance across the seven energetic centers.
