A brief Introduction
Crystal healing is an alternative medical technique in which crystals and other stones are used to cure ailments and protect against disease. Crystals act as conduits for healing— allowing positive, healing energy to flow into the body as negative, disease-causing energy flows out.
All matter is made up of energy. Since we are all made up of similar elements it is possible to have a connection with everything around us.
The first historical references regarding the use of crystals comes from the Ancient Sumerians, who included crystals in magic formulas. Methods of crystal healing (among various other naturopathic treatments) have seen a resurgence over the past two decades as they gain credibility with both the general pubic and conventional health care professionals.
Crystal therapy crosses the boundaries of religious and spiritual beliefs. Over thousands of years of handling, wearing, and use, different crystals have come to be associated with particular healing effects.
Crystal healing often involves the laying stones of different vibrational rates onto the body in order to promote healing and change. It may also involve laying out different energy grids or specific patterns of crystals around the body. By using grids, the combination of the stones can enhance their individual properties, and direct energy.
