Pecos diamonds are rare colourful, doubly-terminated quartz crystals that only occur in the Permian Seven Rivers Formation along the Pecos River valley in southeastern New Mexico. Pecos valley diamonds are unique for their large size, variable color, crystal morphologies, and limited distribution.
